RQCC 2023

RQCC: The Most Entertaining Night Of The Year Is Just Around The Corner

It’s RQCC and it doesn’t get better than this! The most entertaining night on Perth’s social calendar is just around the corner. The dress code? Perth meets Met Gala.

It’s here that you’ll experience the allure of red carpet arrivals, exquisite French champagne, culinary delights, and extraordinary entertainment. Amateur boxing takes centre stage with ten thrilling bouts — each with three intense two-minute rounds — and captivating entrances that’ll rival those of Rocky Balboa.

The Crown Towers Ballroom will be the location of the luxurious night of nights set to kick off on Friday, November 1st. Expect unrivalled amusement and frequent displays of determination, sweat, and even tears of joy.

The modern-day Royal Queensbury Club Championship is loosely based on the time-honoured “Queensberry Rules” derived in London in 1743.

It takes everyday people — 20 brave boxers, both male and female — out of their comfort zone and provides them with an intense, emotional challenge in a safe environment. One that is life-changing on a multitude of levels. It’s a challenge of the body and mind to train, eat, and live like a professional boxer for 11 weeks. All before experiencing the rush of jumping into the ring in front of a crowd of 1,200 eager supporters to put your skills to the test and box for an incredible cause.

A whopping $4 million raised so far

Since its inception in 2008, RQCC has raised over $4 million for Perth children’s charity, ToyBox Australia. Last year’s event totalled an impressive $1 million — a record for the event and one they’re hoping to beat this year. In that time, more than 16,200 of Perth’s most charitable leaders have been entertained, and 280 brave individuals have embarked on the ultimate bucket list challenge, creating lifelong memories along the way.

RQCC 2023 made so much possible — from the six wishes for Make-A-Wish Australia supporting sick kids and the 18 Ocean Heroes events to the Chronic Illness Peer Support Service and Echocardiography Machine at Perth Children’s Hospital. Plus, play equipment for five foster care homes, 32 scholarships for kids with TSH Talkabout, Captain Starlight healthcare appointments in remote Aboriginal communities and so much more.

Let’s make 2024 even bigger!

An incredible cause

You’ve probably heard of ToyBox Australia before with its deep connection to Perth. But how much do you know about what they do? ToyBox Australia is a charity that dedicates itself to supporting local sick and disadvantaged children. Purchasing medical equipment for hospitals and granting wishes is just the start of it. It’s all about lighting up the faces and lives of as many less fortunate children as possible. For us, that makes them an incredible cause worth supporting!

So get involved in this remarkable event and rest easy knowing the money raised will allow you to have an unforgettable night while simultaneously making a positive difference. If you can’t attend this year, there are other ways you can get involved — from bidding in this year’s auction to considering applying to get in the ring at next year’s RQCC.
