How To Spend A Day In The Vibrant Port Town Of Fremantle

From breweries and beaches to staycations galore, it's no wonder Fremantle is one of Perth's favourite day trip destinations.

Fremantle is one of Australia’s largest heritage-listed precincts, perched just 30 minutes from the CBD. The maritime city is renowned as Perth’s Old Town, jam-packed with colour, history, and drool-worthy fare. Here, the charming streets are lined with trendy cafés and bars, and sidewalks are alive with buskers. It’s a destination where award-winning eats and drinks are the norm, served with a side of old-world charm and soul. It’s also one of the easiest cities in the world to explore by foot or bike, with all leading attractions located within walking distance of the Fremantle Train Station. Here’s how to spend the ultimate day trip in Fremantle.

Expect to solve logical problems and puzzles, while overcoming challenges in the ultimate team building experience. You’ll have to think outside the box because not everything is as simple as it seems, and the clues are not always in sequence. When it comes to Fremantle dining, the vibrant, courtyard bar and restaurant, Emily Taylor is the perfect dinnertime stop. The Asian fusion cult favourite was named after a ship that sailed from England to Fremantle, stopping through Asia to pick up tea, spices, and likely, opium, in the 1800s. Perched right next door to the Fremantle Markets, you can expect everything from roast duck and gin cocktails to spiced bites and aromatic fish with fresh herbs. All we can say is that it’s popular for a reason. And make sure you book!

9:00 pm: Stay the night
